THE LOUD GONG

image

Another morning
The sounds of water
dropping on the roof
Can still be heard
The day
Like a new born child
Is yet to have
Its first cry

His thoughts are far
A million miles per hour
Perhaps more
They travel
Fast and far they tumble
Careless of this pace
And the resulting headache
Tis his own form
Of morning meditation

The shrieking sounds
Of the old worn megaphone
Bursts through the morning silence
And breaks his Reverie
The only freedom he enjoys –
Cut short

He lays still
Listens to the loud
Crackling sounds of
The mouthpiece of
Their gospel – their gospel
Turns his aching head
Spits and mutters
Hypocrites –
Dirty hypocrites

I love their God
He is
A patient man
